• About Dr. Hirsch

Dr. Christian Hirsch is a Certified Board Member at the American Board of Surgery as well as the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He holds his Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine. His post-graduate experience features his service as a Chief Resident in General Surgery at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center. Right now, Dr. Hirsch serves as a colon and rectal surgeon affiliated with NYU Langone Hospitals.

Dr. Hirsch has almost three decades of experience in his field. He’s built a reputation around his technical expertise and desire to put his patients first, no matter how difficult. He is always ready to go above and beyond to help his patients, whether it be taking the time to reassure them or cooperating with his fellow doctors and physicians to find the best treatment plan. He is quick to replace his patients’ fears with a sense of hope.

Dr. Christian Hirsch knows that one of the best ways of keeping surgery as stress free for patients as possible is to manage it efficiently. He is a great advocate for minimally invasive surgical options. He learned a great deal about this when he served at the Washington University Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery as an Advanced Laparoscopic and Rectal Surgeon.

He also has a strong interest in how technology is transforming the field of surgery. He knows that the landscape of surgery is ever-evolving and that surgeons need to constantly learn new techniques in order to keep up. One example is using robotics during surgery. They can help reduce scarring and damage, which leads to a faster recovery time for patients. Dr. Hirsch believes that part of being a good surgeon is harnessing everything advanced tool that healthcare experts have available to them.

Dr. Christian Hirsch also enjoys helping others through his blogs. He seeks to share his experience and knowledge with others, whether they be fellow professionals or those looking for advice.
